Mikimoto

June 4th, 2012

Over a century ago, Kokichi Mikimoto succeeded in creating the world's first cultured pearl. His quest for perfection and his love for these pure, lustrous gems of the sea were the guiding forces that built the house of Mikimoto. Today, Mikimoto is the foremost producer of the finest quality cultured pearls and a world leader in the design of exceptional jewelry. The Mikimoto name is synonymous with superior quality at every stage, from the selection of finest materials to expert workmanship to our customer service commitment. Each beautiful piece reflects supreme dedication, passion and care. For today's connoisseur of fine jewelry, Mikimoto combines timeless elegance with sophisticated, modern design. To own Mikimoto is a unique and luxurious pleasure. To wear Mikimoto is to reflect the purity of the ocean ... the mystery of creation ... and to know you are adorned with the finest cultured pearls in the world.

Mikimoto's first pearl boutique opened in Tokyo's fashionable shopping district, Ginza, in 1899. His exceptional gems created high demand and Mikimoto stores soon followed in London, Paris and other major cities. Mikimoto's passion and ceaseless dedication to pearls led to many exciting developments, and helped his nation prosper in the global arena. As an inventor, he enthusiastically exhibited his products and created many astounding displays that spread the renown of Mikimoto cultured pearls.

In 1910, a traditional Japanese fan and screen lavished with Mikimoto cultured pearls were the focal points of the Anglo-Japanese Fair in London. At the 1926 World's Fair, the Mikimoto Pagoda dazzled the public with over 12,000 pearls in a platinum setting. At the 1939 New York World's Fair, a pearl model of the Liberty Bell drew gasps from visitors.

Royal Luxury

May 8th, 2012

Royal Pedic mattresses are one of the most luxurious mattresses on the market.  They are made with the finest natural and hypoallergenic materials from around the world such as cotton from Belgium, untreated wool from France and long fiber non-treated cotton grown in America.  Natural materials are more effective in ventilating body heat. Royal Pedic does not use polyurethane since it has a very limited ability to support body weight over time.  Foam cells weaken and breakdown which over time causes indentations in the mattress resulting in poor back support.

Each Royal Pedic mattress is hand tufted which compresses it for incredible orthopedic back support.  Most other brands are not tufted and only secured around the edges of the mattress.

The Royal Pedic box springs provide 50% more coils in the center of the box spring for additional support were it is needed most.  Overall, the Royal Pedic box springs have 22% more coils than the industry standard.  More coils in the box springs result in the coils being closer together thus providing additional support for the mattress.

Royal Pedic mattresses cost between $3,000 and $12,000 compared to other brands which retail between $500 and $1,500.  There’s an elite group of people from Presidents of the US, celebrities, high-net-worth individuals, sports stars and royalty that have sleep on this luxurious mattress.  To learn more about Royal Pedic please visit their website www.royalpedic.com

Crossover Carpool

March 26th, 2012

The Hollywood Reporter (THR) claims that the type of cars parents drive their children to school in is as important as the designer ensembles they wear.  In affluent Los Angeles communities, moms as well as some dads are favoring luxury crossover SUVs for the morning carpool.  Crossovers are respected for their rugged tough ability on any type of terrain, but are sexy, sleek, and stylish for the city.  The top five brands are the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Lexus RX, Mercedes GL and the Porsche Cayenne.  Maserati will be entering the crossover race in 2013 with their model the Kubang, which has an estimated base price of $70,000

Some observers claim to be able to tell a lot about a person by the type of car they drive.  THR reports that Audi and BMW drivers seem to be more down to earth than those that drive Mercedes and Lexus.  Mercedes drivers seem to give the air of older money while Porsche Cayenne owners tend to be flashy nouveau riche.

Minivans are still an option for carpooling with the Honda Odyssey leading the charge.  However, fashionable brand conscious parents have decided to take a different path in transporting their little darlings with a luxury crossover SUV.
