Marc Newson was born in Sydney, Australia in 1963. Currently, he resides in London where he is a successful industrial designer. Marc creates everything from furniture, clothing, industrial products and jewelry. His design style uses smooth flowing lines and tends to have an absence of sharp edges.
Time Magazine selected Marc as one of their 100 most influential people of 2005. His designs are often some of the highest selling items at auctions. The below "Lockheed Lounge" sold in London for $1.6 million dollars.
The "Orgone" chair was created in 1993. The primary conception was made for a limited furniture set consisting of aluminium. A plastic set for the mass-market followed after a short period of time.
